Fat Transfer / Fat Grafting: What is it? : Fat Transfer, also known as Fat Grafting, is a popular cosmetic procedure that moves fat from one part of the body to another to restore volume, contour, and correct imperfections. The process involves three main steps:
1. Fat Harvest (Liposuction): The surgeon performs a gentle form of liposuction to remove excess fat from a suitable donor area on the patient’s body (e.g., abdomen, thighs, hips, or buttocks). This is done using techniques designed to preserve the integrity of the fat cells.
2. Fat Preparation (Purification): The harvested fat is processed through centrifugation or filtering to separate and purify only the best quality, viable fat cells (which contain a high concentration of adipose-derived stem cells).
3. Preparation before facial fat transfer

– Stop taking blood thinning medications (Aspirin, Ibuprofen), vitamins A, E, C, herbs, ginseng, ginkgo, and fish oil 2 weeks before receiving the service.
– Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol at least 2 weeks before surgery to reduce the risk of infection and prolonged swelling.

– For the first 24 hours, avoid facial massage, applying cream, or lotion.

– Avoid drinking alcohol for about 3–7 days.
